As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Making an Impact, One Activity at a Time!

Visit to Surabee senior citizen’s home

The Lions Club of Gadag Betageri conducted a Visit to Surabee Senior Citizen’s Home(Old Age Home) on 05 January 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM, serving 40 senior citizens. District Governor accompanied us for this activity. During the visit, the club donated rice bags, biscuits, fruits, blankets, dresses for women, and solar lights to support the daily needs and comfort of the residents. Lions members interacted warmly with the elders and distributed the items with care and respect.

Hunger Relief at Annapurneshwari Prasad Nilaya

The Lions Club of Gadag Betageri conducted Activity-02: Hunger Activity on 03 January 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. During this program, nutritious food was served to 500 needy people, including the elderly and underprivileged members of the community. Club members actively participated in serving food with care and dignity, reflecting the Lions’ commitment to fight hunger and serve society. The program was well organized and received appreciation from the beneficiaries.

Eye Donation

The Lions Club of Gadag Betgeri conducted an Eye Donation activity as part of its ongoing humanitarian initiatives. The program was held on 1st January 2026 at 12:00 PM, and marked a noble contribution to society by supporting eye donation to help restore vision for those in need. The eye donation was done in memory of Sri. Shivarudrappa Kalasapur , Veeranarayana Temple Road, Gadag . His family generously came forward to fulfill his wish of donating his eyes, setting a remarkable example of compassion and social responsibility. Members of the Lions Club, along with medical personnel, visited the residence to coordinate and carry out the eye donation procedure. The team ensured that all formalities and medical protocols were smoothly completed. The presence of Lions Club volunteers in their signature yellow vests highlighted their commitment to serving the community with dedication. During the program, club members expressed their gratitude to the family for their meaningful gesture, acknowledging that such donations play a crucial role in transforming lives. The medical team also shared insights about the importance of eye donation and how one donor can illuminate the world for two visually impaired individuals. The Eye Donation activity concluded with heartfelt respect to the donor and appreciation for the family’s humanitarian decision. The initiative reinforced the Lions Club’s mission of service and awareness, encouraging more people to pledge for eye donation.

Khangar related program

Today, Gokarna Lions Club distributed bananas in high schools under the Hunger Relief Program. Rs. 5000 was donated to the cost of making sweet payasam to accompany the hot meal. Nagarajanahalli, President of the Lions Club, was present at this program and distributed bananas and donated money. 103 students and teaching staff took advantage of this purchase program.

Under Hunger service week-Senior citizen and shelter home day our club visited Sanjeevan, Old age Home and Hospice and donated Rs.5000/ and joined the birthday celebration of President Dr Asha Sawardekar. 5 Members were Present.

Food Waste to Food Plate - Hunger service week.

Under food waste to food plate on 7th Jan Lions club of Ponda city collected leftover food from the company, Essity Operations Limited, Bethora and distributed it to needy people. 50 people were benefitted. 6 members attended.

Hunger free slum area program - Hunger service week.

Under hunger free slum area program 6th Jan Lions club of Ponda city distributed 25 packets of 1 kg Rice (given by District) along with 1/2 kg toor dal, 1kg Potatoes, 1kg brinjal and biscuits at slum area at Bablyachi khali, Ponda. 125 people were benefitted. 7 members attended.

Annadan for children of Govt Primary school Tisk Ponda - Hunger service week.

On 5th Jan lions club of Ponda city observed School nutrition day by giving home-made nutritious food to students of Govt Primary school, Tisk Ponda. 35 students of Primary and Anganwadi students and teachers were benefitted. 6 members attended.

Study tour to Waste recycling plant

A study tour was organized for the students and staff of the Vidya Vihar High School, Cortalim at the WooW waste recycling plant, Chicalim. An interactive session with demonstration was conducted for the students where they were shown and explained the various steps involved in waste segregation and recycling. The activity saw enthusiastic participation from the students who sought more knowledge by raising many queries. Refreshments were provided by the club to all attendees. 65 students and 6 teachers benefitted.
