Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

GB Meeting

Conducted First GB Meeting under the New PST and Team. Discussed about upcoming activities to be organised/conducted. 1. Vanamahotsava 2. Girl Child Care.... Around 40 Lion members attended the meeting and supported.

Health Check-up conducted by LC Old Goa on 12th July at Old Age Home, Diwar, Tiswadi, Goa.

LC Old Goa conducted Health Check-up for 25 inmates of Lar Santa Margarida Old Age Home. Dr. Subodh (Sub P.H.C., Diwar) conducted the check up along with the nurses and Ayurvedic Doctor Rucha. Health Check-up was done to the Lion members.

Study tour to Waste recycling plant

President and members of the club participated in a study tour at the WooW plant at Chicalim, which focusses on recycling waste. The members understood the process involved, classification of waste types and the importance of segregation of waste. This will help the club in spreading the message and creating awareness amongst the general public as to the importance of waste segregation and recycling

Vanamohotsav Celeberation

The Club Celebrated Vanamohatsav by participating in the Tree Plantation Drive at WooW Plant, Chicalim. Fruit bearing and medicinal plant saplings were donated and planted.

4th BOD Installation

Lions club of Curchoem and Sanvordem had its 4 th BOD installation on 6th July at SR BANQUET Hall @ Curchorem by installation officer Lion MJF Sudesh Borkar,2nd VDG under leadership of President Lion Sameer Naik, Secretary Lion Nilkanth (Siddhu) Pai and Treasurer Lion Ashwin D'Souza. 2 New members were added in the club. Ln Renzilla Ashwin D'souza (Teacher ) Ln Siddhi Prabhu Pawaskar (Panch member & Social Worker) Chief guest for the Function was Mr.Guruprasd R Pawaskar, State Commissioner for person with Disabilities, Govt. Of Goa who in his precise address highlighted the need for and importance of service recalling the examples of how Lions helped with Ambulance on the Porvorim road in 1980s and 1990s and many more such humanitarian Serices by Lions. 11 toppers in standard 10th from 10 different schools in Curchorem sanvordem area were felicitated. Also, 3 distinguished personalities were felicitated for their outstanding achievements, two from the field of agriculture and one from the field of science and technology. Our Club member Lion Avin Naik Felicitated with the Best Zone Chairperson awards for the year 2024-2025. As a token of love and appreciation, we presented each of our esteemed invitees with a handcrafted seed bomb (Seed Ball) After the event.
