As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Childhood cancer awareness talk
Childhood Cancer: Lions club of Vasco da gama in association with Sanjeevani- life beyond cancer Center and MES college conducted an awareness talk on Cancer prevention and healthy lifestyle to the students and staffs of the college. Total 127 participants were present. Students had multiple questions which were answered by the resource person , The session was very informative and helpful as students got more confidence on how to handle Cancer situation and following healthy diet could increase the immune system. Principal and staff thanked the resource person Ms. Sujata Bose and Dr. Shilpa for getting the session very interactive.

Region chairperson official visit to the club
On 6th September 2025 , Lions club of Vasco da Gama completed their Region chairperson official visit to the club . Region chairperson MJF Lion Premanand Kerkar appreciated the club for the activities conducted and also advised to focus on district goals. BOD and other members were present and gave various suggestion on how we could improve things in club. Zone chairperson Lion Arnaldo do Rego and other club president were also present for the meeting.

Felicitation of teachers
On 6th Sept 2025, on the occasion of Teachers day, Lions club of Vasco da Gama felicitated 7 teachers from different fields with different skills. The Teachers felicitated were : 1. Ms. Vrinda Vijaykant Kanani - Dance and Zumba instructor. 2. Mrs. Apeksha Nadkarni - Art facilitator. 3. Ms. Maria Lira Rodrigues - Foreign language teacher. 4. Mrs. Namita Ashish Patil - Fashion designing, cooking, tailoring facilitator 5. Mrs. Varsha Balram Betgiri - Driving Instructor ( Automobiles). 6. Mrs. Leena Gaude - Special Educator for special children. 7. Mr. Antonio Gustavo Fernandes- Music Teacher. The function started with inaugural part by lighting lamp and garlanding Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan photo. The chief guest for the function was Professor Dr. Manasvi Kamat ( Principal of MES college of Arts and commerce). Project chairperson was Lion Anjali Madkaiker

Duff and Dumb Screening
Dr. S R Chandrashekhar Deff and Dumb institute doctors and van hospital visited Kumta and area and Lions Club of Kumta has organized Medical Checkup camp for needy people. Around 48 needy patients were screened and advised accordingly.
