Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Making an Impact, One Activity at a Time!

Serving Lunch & Dinner at Old Age Home-Bogmallo

We enjoyed some time with the inmates of the Old Age Home at Bogmallo by singing songs and making them sing, pray, etc. before serving them Lunch. Food for dinner also was provided. There are 80 inmates, some of them bedridden who are being cared for by around 15 staff members who were also provided food.

2nd GB Meeting

The Indian National Flag was unfurled at the Lions School Narayanpur Premises to commemorate the 77th Republic day, Army Veteran Brigadier SG Bhagwat was the Chief Guest for the Function. MJF Lion Anand Kamalapur addressed the gathering and gave a talk on Lions Founder Melvin Jones on account of Founders day. As a continued part of Hunger Service Grocery was distributed to Physically Challenged person Mr. Vadiraj & Lions School watchman's Family Vishal, this donation was sponsered by MJF Lion Shaila Karagudri & Lion Usha Gadagimath. The Lions School Students performed a series of Dance performance, displaying patriotism, and valour on the occassion of the Republic day celebrations, LionClub members present witnessed their performance, and encouraged the Children with applauses and claps to motivate their effort.

25 club members attended the Region Chairperson meet held at Woodlands Hotel Keshwapur Hubli on 24/1/2025. Lions Club Dharwad received the following awards in the RC Meet namelly 1.) Membership Retention Award 2) Membership Growth Award 3) Worldwide week of Service- Hunger award 4) Highest Attendance award at the RC Meet & Best Banner presentation award.

Region Meet of Region VI conducted on 25th January 2026 with more than 110 delegates

A grand Region Meet of Region VI was conducted on 25th January with members of all the seven clubs of the Region present. The theme was" Together Towards Excellence" and members deliberated on it with PDG MJF Lion Srinivas Shivangi being the key note speaker
