As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

“Nourishing Lives Through Knowledge and Care.”
On 11th January, Lion Dr. Shaila conducted an informative talk on nutrition for the inmates of Matru Chhaya, Gogol. The session focused on the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits, and maintaining overall well-being, especially in daily life. Dr. Shaila explained the role of nutritious food in building immunity, improving health, and preventing lifestyle-related illnesses, in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. The inmates actively listened and benefited from the valuable guidance shared during the session. The talk was well appreciated and proved to be educative and beneficial, contributing positively to the health awareness of the inmates.

Hunger week
On 10th January, as part of the District Hunger Week activity, all the clubs under the district actively participated in initiatives aimed at addressing hunger and supporting the needy. In line with this noble cause, our club also extended its wholehearted support during the said week. On this occasion, our club donated a sum of Rs. 4,000/- to MattruChaya Trust, Gogol, for the welfare of the inmates residing at the trust. In addition, through the district, the club received a 26 kg bag of rice, which was also donated to Mathruchaya Trust to further support their daily needs. The District Coordinator for the Hunger Week, Lion Adrian, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Hunger Week, explaining the purpose behind observing it and stressing the importance of collective efforts in combating hunger and caring for the underprivileged. Lion Jennifer also gave a brief overview of the Hunger Week program, sharing insights into the objectives of the initiative and the role played by Lions Clubs in making the program meaningful and impactful. This activity was successfully carried out during the official visit of the Region Chairperson, adding value to the visit and reinforcing the club’s commitment to humanitarian service. Through this initiative, the club once again reaffirmed its dedication to the Lions’ mission of serving humanity and addressing basic needs such as hunger with compassion and responsibility.

Region Chairperson official visit to the club
Region Chairperson MJF Lion Darmu Rauth Dessai paid his official visit to the Club at Mathruchaya, Gogol. The visit was conducted in a warm and well-organized atmosphere, reflecting the unity and commitment of the club members. The meeting was presided over by President Lion Utkarsh Bakre, who welcomed the Region Chairperson and all dignitaries present. The function was also graced by the presence of PDG Lion Dr. Hiremath and the Secretary of Mathruchaya Trust Smt Diksha Dessai, whose presence added dignity and encouragement to the occasion. During the meeting, the Club Activity Report was presented by Secretary Lion Amit, highlighting the various service activities, welfare programs, and community-oriented initiatives undertaken by the club. The report showcased the club’s dedication to meaningful service and teamwork. The program was further honoured by the presence of Lion District Coordinator Ln. Adrian, who appreciated the efforts of the club and motivated the members to continue their service activities with enthusiasm. In his address, Region Chairperson MJF Lion Darmu Rauth Dessai appreciated the consistent efforts of the club and congratulated the members for their active participation in service projects. He offered valuable guidance and inspired the members to strengthen unity and work collectively towards the objectives of Lions Clubs International. The official visit proved to be informative and motivating, strengthening the bond between the region, the trust, and the club members, and encouraging everyone to continue serving the community in true Lions spirit.
