Special Initiative: Weeks of service

As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.

Service Focus Weeks

  • MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING:  October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
  • HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
  • ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day

Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

The program was held on 20th February 2026 at 05:00 PM, and marked a noble contribution to society by supporting eye donation to help restore vision for those in need. The eye donation was done in memory of Smt. Netra S. Yelamali, Gadag . His family generously came forward to fulfill his wish of donating his eyes, setting a remarkable example of compassion and social responsibility. Members of the Lions Club, along with medical personnel, visited the residence to coordinate and carry out the eye donation procedure. The team ensured that all formalities and medical protocols were smoothly completed. The presence of Lions Club volunteers in their signature yellow vests highlighted their commitment to serving the community with dedication. During the program, club members expressed their gratitude to the family for their meaningful gesture, acknowledging that such donations play a crucial role in transforming lives. The medical team also shared insights about the importance of eye donation and how one donor can illuminate the world for two visually impaired individuals.
