Special Initiative: Weeks of service
As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.
Service Focus Weeks
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Worldwide Environment Service Week - Tree Plantation Drive
In keeping with the "Worldwide Week of Environment" The Lions Club of Candolim along with the Village Panchayat of Candolim successfully carried out a "Tree Plantation Drive along the bundh at the Candolim riverside, where 140 fruit-bearing plants were planted. This initiative aims not only to enhance the green cover but also to create a natural habitat and nesting place for a variety of birds. The addition of fruit-bearing trees will attract different species of birds, insects, and small wildlife, thereby enriching and supporting the biodiversity of the area. It will also enhance the aesthetic beauty of the proposed recreational park. We look forward to seeing these trees grow and contribute to a healthier, more vibrant ecosystem.
