As we embark on a new year of service, we are excited to introduce our Service Focus Weeks for 2025-2026. These weeks are designed to create a global impact by concentrating our efforts on specific causes. By aligning our service activities, we can amplify our impact and visibility, showing the world the power of collective action.
Service Focus Weeks
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: October 4 - 12, 2025 Aligns with World Mental Health Day
- HUNGER: January 3 - 11, 2026, Celebrate Melvin Jones' Birthday
- ENVIRONMENT: April 18 - 26, 2026 Aligns with Earth Day
Each week of service will incorporate two weekends to allow clubs maximum flexibility in their planning. We encourage to engage our district clubs with these causes throughout the year, but during these specific weeks, we aim to create a unified, global impact.

Lions Club of Ponda held the 4th Instalment of Food Basket Donation to T.B. Patients in South Goa, wherein 125 food baskets were distributed to the TB patients from 4 Primary Health Centres in South Goa

Melvin Jones Day Celebration
Melvin Jones Day Lions Club of Candolim celebrated Melvin Jones Day, a day dedicated to honouring the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones, and to reaffirming the core values of service, leadership, and humanitarian commitment. On this occasion, Past District Governor PMJF Lion Erle Brito addressed the members, highlighting the significance of the Melvin Jones Day and the spirit of selfless service envisioned by the founder. During the programme, PMJF Lion Glenda Brito was presented the Builder Key Pin and PMJF Leo Lion Emir was presented the Membership Key Pin from Lions International by President PMJF Lion Jude Lopes.

Club Level Leadership Institute Training.
MJF Lion Daryl Fernandes, District GLT Coordinator, conducted a Club Level Leadership Institute training for the members of Lions Club of Candolim at the Lions Club house. The session focused on strengthening leadership, teamwork, and service commitment among members. Lion Daryl’s engaging presentation inspired everyone to take greater responsibility in club activities and community service. Senior as well junior Lions appreciated the training and shared positive feedback, expressing enthusiasm to implement their learnings. The training was both informative and motivating, leaving members energized to serve with renewed dedication.
